An Introduction

Ideas and Ruminations on LOST

Hey all, my name is PTS and I love LOST.  I've been watching the show since it premiered on September 22, 2004 and my loyalty has never wavered.

These ideas have been bouncing around inside my head ever since season 5 ended in May and I haven't really read any other websites of blogs that have had exactly the same thoughts that I have.

For the past 5 years, I - as well as every other diehard LOSTIE out there - have been trying to decipher the majority of the mythology based happenings, e.g., the Smoke Monster, Jacob, Visions, Whispers, the Numbers, Ghosts, and connect them in a way that would make sense.  Except for the Numbers and the whispers, the purpose of this blog attempts to do just that.

Now, I know what a lot of you are thinking right now.  But don't worry, I am not trying to create some ridiculous all encompassing theory that can be easily disproved by one piece of factual information.  Trust me, this is nothing like many of those ridiculous theories you might read on the web.

My ideas mainly pertain to John Locke, Jacob and his unknown enemy (who will hereafter be referred to as the Man in Black or M.I.B.), the Monster, Jack Shepard and his father, Christian, and his sister, Claire.  Hurley and his ghostly visitors and other visions that various characters have had and the differences between the two are also of the utmost importance and will be explored as well.

So I invite you all to delve into the world of LOST with me as we slowly but surely come upon the impending final season.  I will make a new post each week, and if I am feeling particularly inspired, then I will post more than once a week.

PREVIEW: Next week, I will address John Locke and particularly the visions and dreams he has had since arriving on the island.  Stay tuned, and remember: If we can't live together, then we're going to die alone.
